Photographer of the Day: 3/4:Eric Ray Davidson

Great portrait work below from Eric Ray Davidson. Notice how well he works his subject in with his background. Every pixel is important, and neccesary in order to get the subject’s personality across.

My favorite picture is the one of the girl on the street because it make s me want to know her story. Who she is, where she is from, and why she is there. Davidson is effective in capturing the essence of a personality in his photos because of how and where he places people and what they have on helps as well.

My favorite photo is the third picture where Cuba Gooding Jr. is looking out the window. It shows that he is a man who likes to just sit back and gaze upon life.

I think my favorite picture is the one of the guy in black and white. All the objects and stuff behind him are blurred out, so it really gives a boldness to the subject.

The black and white photo really trys to focus on his emotion. It is very powerful how the blurriness draggs your eyes straight to the center where he is.

my favorite picture is the one that has the flame and fan, i love how the picture is only focused in on one thing and it looks great, all his photos seem to look like that.

I like the photograph of what looks like a work station. The photo shows that the person who owns this work area is a hard worker, even though the photo is clutterd I think that is what gets the point across. I love it.

Eric Ray Davidson kind of creeps me out. I don’t think that i would like to meet him in a real life situation, especially on a dark street at night. I don’t know if that is the effect that he is going for, but that’s the one he’s giving off.

I actually kind of agree with this. His pictures are kind of dark and serious. I guess it makes him unigue, but yes, his pictures are very creepy.

I agree with Tiffany’s comment about how the background adds to the effect of the girls emotions. The backgrounds really add emphasis to the personalities already depicted by the peoples facial expressions and emotions.
