Photographer of the day:Carl Corey

Maybe its the colors, maybe its the cinematic quality to his images, the way he clearly shows his subjects as characters casted in these  large scale productions, but there is something very satisfying about the photographs of Carl Corey.

I like the one that’s covered in red light because it reminds me of a club or of csi.

You know, to be quite frank, i dont really have a favorite in his photos. To me they dont have any sort of interest thats relavant to whats i’m connected to or that I would like to view.

My favorite image is the one of the bowling alley, because I like how the photographer has leading lines in the picture. Like how the table leads into the lanes. It just looks like an original picture with uniqueness.

My favorite picture of Carl Corey is the 5th picture because everything is red and black and I really like the light on the tree.

I really like the bowling alley photo. The length of the room and the angle of the photo makes me feel like I’m inside the room. It also doesn’t hurt that I like to bowl 🙂 Another reason I like this photo is the symmetry. The tables and lanes would be identical if you were to fold this photo in half, which I think is pleasing to the eye.

And apparently Carol Corey was at the last First Thursday Art Walk in the Pearl District. Small world eh?
