This Week’s Photo Challenge: Juxtaposition

3913969-Juxtaposition_of_old_and_new-Manila

from the Free Dictionary:

jux·ta·pose // (jkst-pz)

tr.v. jux·ta·posed, jux·ta·pos·ing, jux·ta·pos·es

To place side by side, especially for comparison or contrast.

[French juxtaposer : Latin ixt, close by; see yeug- in Indo-European roots + French poser, to place (from Old French; see pose1).]

For this assignment, you will present two conflicting ideas or concepts and place them next to each other, just like in the photo above.

Don’t just photoshop the two images together, but compose two conflicting concepts or ideas in the same image. The image above features two conflicting ideas, one of the new Manila, capitol of the Phillipines, the other bottom part of the image features image of the old Manila. Both ideas conflicting and existing in the same photograph.

This photo is due next Wednesday, and will be the FINAL PHOTO CHALLENGE of the Semester.
