Photographer of the Day: Douglas Ethridge

I’ve featured Douglas Ethridge before, unaware of the sheer variety present in his portfolio. Seattle-based Ethridge knows his way around depth of field to a masterful degree. But he is equally triumphant in his rendering of the ocean as the whirling, swirling beast that it is.

Many thanks to Lenscratch for the inspiration.

I really like these photos they’re pretty good, my favorite was the one with the sand castle. I like the apeture used because the surfer is blurry and the sand castle is clear

I really like this photographs. They have great lighting and the depth of field makes them more interesting to look at. Also the sepia/black&white look to them makes them really cool.

i like the one of the sand castly mainly because yeah its the center of the photo but the people behind it may have a story as well which could even include the making of the sand castle.

I love these phots. Especially the one of the ocean. The colors are amazing, they draw me in. I also love the photos on the beach and how the front of the photo goes amazingly with the background.
